| Taming Without a Taming Item
First, check this site for the list of monster that can be tamed:

Note that not all of the taming items can be obtain.
So here's how you can get those pets without a taming item.
•First you need to have a Sage / Scholar character with the "Abracadabra" skill.
•Then find the monster you want to capture.
•All you have to do is use the Abracadabra skill until a skill named "????" appears.
•Then target the skill to your monster of choice and the "????" will be changed into "Tame Monster!"
•Note: The "????" skill does not always change into "Tame Monster!". It can one of these five random skills.
· Instant Kill
· Monocell (changes monster into a Poring)
· Change Class (Transform normal monster to MVP and MVP to normal monster)
· Fortune (Increase zeny = your level x 100 zeny)
· Tame monster
•If it turned into "Tame Monster" skill, all you have to do is target it again to your monster of choice and there you go.
You will have an egg of your chosen monster!
